The restaurant of the 4-star Pays Basque Ametza campsite, close to the most beautiful sandy beach of the Aquitaine Coast, La Table d’Ametza, a building with neo-Basque architecture, opens its doors from April until the end of the season in October.
The new team of the grocery store and restaurant La Table d’Ametza welcomes you from 8 am in high season on the terrace swept by the first rays of the sun. Let yourself be tempted by a tasty breakfast, savoury or sweet, a local bakery delivers bread, pastries and Basque cakes.
The room is bright, the decor pleasant, seated on benches, around a table, or installed on stools at the bar, you will first enjoy some tapas accompanied by a glass of cider or sangria, a grenadine or orangeade for the youngest.
Then, you will taste a traditional cuisine on the spot or to take away: tapas, platos combinados, piquillos, croquetas, tortilla de patatas… without forgetting the unavoidable pizzas (home-made dough with local flour), burgers, sandwiches, salads and picnic baskets for your strolls at the beach or in the mountains.
The beef is of French origin, the organic goat’s cheese and sheep’s cheese come from organic and local producers.
The grocery shop at the 4-star Ametza campsite, with heated swimming pool, near the beach, with its neo-Basque architecture, shrubbery and flower beds, is adjacent to the restaurant, La Table d’Ametza: bread, pastries, fruit and vegetables, cold meats, dairy products, drinks, ice creams, newspapers, and basic necessities are all nicely presented in a bright shop.
The grocery shop also offers organic products and specialities from the French and Spanish Basque Country (ham, lomo, chorizo, cheese, honey, tuna, sardines, jams, compote…)
During the season, a warm welcome is reserved for customers from 8am to 9pm, meeting in the morning and at the end of the afternoon when you return from the beach.
La Table d’Ametza is waiting for you at the campsite in the Basque Country, pitches, cocosweet rental, mobile homes and chalets.
During festivals in the Basque Country, cooking contests are organized between towns, neighborhoods or friends, and this is the origin of the famous “pintxos or tapas” , traditional miniature dishes.
Some tables are installed in the shade of the pergola with red bougainvillea flowers and blue plumbagos near the entertainment area. At night in high season you can dine in a warm atmosphere, to the sound of the many shows and parties offered by Camping Ametza: sevillanas, mutxikos, Basque choirs, jazz, French songs, karaoke, quizzes…
For more privacy, head to the dining room of La Table d’Ametza restaurant or the adjoining terrace decorated with pink hydrangeas and blue sage bushes. It is recommended to book in advance.
La Table d’Ametza team also welcomes working groups and seminars, offering a service adapted to their wishes.
