Michel ALZATE founded Camping Ametza in 1952 in his beloved Basque Country where tourism was developing and growing demand had to be met.
With care and kindness, he has created a peaceful place, in total harmony with its breathtaking panorama, the Atlantic Ocean, then the Pyrenees range that can be observed at 360°.
Today, it is her 3 daughters, Stéphane, Gratiane and Catherine who keep this same spirit of authenticity and prepare their own children to take over one day.
The Camping Pays Basque Ametza, 4 stars, in Hendaye-plage, near the most beautiful beach on the Aquitaine coast offers a wide range of services.
The reception is open during the season without interruption from 9am to 9pm (trilingual reception). We accept payments by holiday vouchers, credit cards, cash.
We ensure the reception and sending of mail.
Online booking, free wifi access throughout the campsite, daily shuttle to the beach offered in high season, every 30 minutes from 11am. Our facilities are designed for people with reduced mobility.
The campsite’s swimming pool is heated from May to September, supervised in July and August, swimming lessons are available.
The tennis court is open to all, the ping-pong tables are next to the petanque court (racket loan).
The children’s club and its mascot Mumphrey welcome the youngest. Adolescents and adults participate in sports activities. Salsa classes are offered under the pergola of the entertainment area. A variety of shows are offered by Camping Ametza during the season.
The restaurant, bar and grocery store at Camping Ametza open their doors in April.
Reception of motorhomes (water and drainage), sanitary facilities for babies, shower cubicles and washbasins for people with reduced mobility. Rental of sheets, towels, baby kits, barbecues, laundry (sale of tokens), selective sorting (in an eco-citizen approach), night reception, night watchman.
