The Basque country is famous for its beautiful and varied landscapes, but also for its frequent coastlines, which are not easy to cross by bike! If you’re a confirmed sportsman and a great cycling enthusiast, then the climbs of the Basque country won’t scare you and a VTC will do the trick. If you’re more of a weekend warrior, then opt for an electric bike. Thee-bike will make crossing the Hendaye, Bidart or Biarritz coastline a whole lot easier. Dreaming of a hike along the winding paths of the Pyrenees? So why not rent a mountain bike?
<>Where to cycle in and around Hendaye?
For a leisurely ride, set off from Hendaye and pedal to Saint-Jean-de-Luz, where you’ll discover the beauty of this delightful Basque town. If you feel like challenging yourself even more, cycle to Bidart. Once you’ve arrived in this beautiful little town, after a stroll of over 1 hour, you can walk along the beach and enjoy the typical Basque charm. If you continue cycling along the Basque coastline, you’ll reach the beaches south of Biarritz in around 20 minutes, where the scenery is simply splendid. Are you still in shape? So don’t stop there, ride your bike all the way to the town of Anglet! When you reach the Chambre d’Amour, all that’s left to do is admire the Pyrenean mountains plunging into the sea, before re-furling your bike for the return ride.
