The location of camping Ametza

  • Location: the campsite is on the 1st road on the left after the 1st traffic circle as you enter Hendaye (coming from the Corniche Basque after exiting the A63 at Saint Jean de Luz Sud, Hendaye par la Corniche).
  • Distance from the beach: the most beautiful sandy beach on the Aquitaine coast is 900 m from the campsite. Free beach shuttle service in July and August.
  • Distance from station: the station is 2 km from the campsite. The TXIK TXAK shuttle bus runs to and from Camping Ametza.
  • Distance to supermarkets: Intermarché, Carrefour Market and Lidl are 2 km away. The “Ventas” on the Col d’Ibardin, towards Urrugne, are 20 minutes from the Pays Basque campsite.

  • Payment by vacation vouchers :
    They are accepted for the payment of the deposit and the balance of the stay.
     
  • Animals : dogs must be kept on a leash and show an up-to-date vaccination certificate. Dogs are allowed on camping pitches but not in rental accommodation. Dogs belonging to categories 1 and 2 are prohibited. 
  • Choice of pitch: if you have already been a customer of the campsite and you know the exact pitch or rental number you would like to occupy, we will do our best to allocate it to you.

Campsite Ametza rentals

  • Handover of keys: customers take possession of their rental from 3 pm on Saturday afternoon.
  • New for 2022: the €200 deposit is taken by secure bank imprint, neither debited nor blocked, on the SWIKLY gateway one week before your arrival.
    Check out our mobile homes, chalets and unusual rentals in Hendaye. Pets are not allowed.

Camping pitches

  • Electrical terminal: European plugs are mandatory; bring an extension cord (electrical terminals are grouped together at several locations far from each other).

Other business

  • Reception opening hours: off-season from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 6pm, during the July-August season from 9am to 8pm without interruption.
  • Automatic gate: Controlled by the license plate of the customer’s vehicle. Gates close from midnight to 6 a.m. The main gate closes at midnight if the parking lot is full.
    Payment on site: credit card, vacation vouchers, cash. Bank cheques are not accepted.
  • Laundry: space with washing machine and dryer, as well as ironing board (loan of iron), tokens on sale at the grocery store.
  • Various rentals: bicycles, electric bikes, refrigerated lockers, baby kits, barbecues, late check-out, beds made up on arrival (deposit required and booking recommended).
  • Swimming pool: you must wear an Ametza bracelet inside the campsite for the duration of your stay. The pool area is supervised from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. during high season. Aquagym classes (free) and swimming lessons (for a fee) are available.
  • Visitors: must report to reception and pay a fee to gain access to campsite facilities. Visitors must leave their vehicles outside the campsite. The comfort of Camping Ametza customers is paramount.
    Getting around Hendaye: campsite beach shuttle (free) – Hendaye HEGOBUS shuttle (lines 4/5/20) – “Marie-Louise” boat (Hendaye-Fontarrabie) – “topo” eusko-tren (Hendaye- St Sébastien) – cabs.
